SATA drives were designed so they could be pushed into an enclosure. I have no idea why it took so long for a manufacture to make a tray less enclosure, maybe because they made more money selling trays. This works well. Buy a new SATA drive, open the door, slide it in. Easy. Just a couple gripes. I wish there was a power switch for each drive, if you don't want a drive on, you have to eject it. That makes for a lot of unnecessary insertions which could wear the enclosure out faster. Also it requires a lot of connections in the back. I don't understand why one power plug can't supply power to the entire unit. Instead ... Using Terabyte hard drives?
