Although it's not advertised as compatible with the Dell Dimension 5100, I was able to replace the power supply in about 10 minutes with this and it fit perfectly and works perfectly. Really easy, and I'm not highly skilled in hardware installations.My Dell was dead - when you pushed the power button literally nothing happened. The only sign of life was a green light on the motherboard. Google searches were inconclusive but pointed to either a bad mother board or a bad power supply unit (PSU). I decided to try this new PSU as opposed to spending $500 or so on a new computer, and I'm happy I did... our computer is up and running.One note ...
